My husband came home last night with some news that was a mix of good, shocking, exciting, and nerve racking. He got offered a new position in Charleston, SC and the position is way too good to pass up. He is going to basically have his own office there with 20-30 people working for him. I’m not going to go into detail about what they are paying him but if he meets certain goals I might not have to work anymore. He is pretty confident that he will too so I don’t know what to think. I never thought I wouldn’t have to work anymore and it is not a guarantee that I won’t even if things do work out. We don’t have nor plan on having any kids so being a stay at home Mom is out of the question.

This is all going to happen in the first quarter of next year. That gives us plenty of time to check out real estate in Charleston SC. I don’t even know where to start with that but I plan on doing just that later this afternoon. We have to get our current house on the market too as the sooner we can sell it the better. We can always live with my parents temporarily until we move if it comes to that. They have more than enough room. We also will have to figure out what we want in our new home. Right now we live in a ranch home and I personally would rather have a duplex. It would just be nice to have our bedroom and maybe an office upstairs away from the rest of the place. I know one thing he will want and that is a finished basement. Our current one is not finished and he’s been saying he was going to for years now. It is just one of those things that we (mainly him) never got around to doing.

I told my sister Emily about this and she said she will definitely be visiting us during the cold winter months here. I totally forgot about the climate change. It will be nice not having to deal with the annual large snowstorm that we always get around here. I know he won’t miss shoveling it either. He just bought a snow blower two years ago so he’ll have to sell it or give it to somebody.
